Story
A short film inspired by Greek Mythology
Late in his life, a grumpy old timer finds himself lost on a lake accompanied by a young girl, who questions him about a name.
" I'd finished reading the Iliad and decided to watch Wolfgang Petersen's Troy. I came across the scene where Priam kisses his dead son Hector with coins across his eyes, shortly before cremating him. I wondered why the Ancient Greeks did such a strange thing.
...three days later I began writing.
Beyond the Lake is my take on the River Styx ferryman. I wanted to explore a Charon that differs from the common portrayal of a dark entity and focus on one that feels empathy and loneliness for their thankless task."
